Another success story is the one Mediktor achieved in collaboration with Hospital Parc Taulí, implementing a new care process in which the infirmary department manages urgent and low complexity demand with the support of Mediktor’s artificial intelligence-based (AI) tool. The ARA Unit results from a great teamwork effort, launching one of the first digital health solutions to triage patients in a public hospital.

Improvement of our content and database

Mediktor has tirelessly focused on refining its technology to enhance user experience and expand its solution. Throughout 2023, the medical team has made significant strides in promoting health equity and inclusion. The AI-based medical chatbot has broadened its reach to include patients with sensory, physical, and intellectual disabilities. In addition to improving Mediktor’s database to fit and adapt the question model to each case, users can now personalize their profiles and adjust the evaluation to their needs.

Mediktor’s AI chatbot uses a database of diseases and symptoms to evaluate patients’ symptoms accurately. Augmenting it thus means enhancing the overall user experience when assessing patients’ symptoms. For this reason, all of Mediktor’s content is created by professionals and reviewed by specialists. In collaboration with relevant organizations such as Hospital Broggi, Hospital Sant Pau, Confederacion ASPACE, and FAMBA, Mediktor’s 2023 database has undergone strict and deep content reviews on the topics of mental health, gynecology & obstetrics, disabilities, and tropical diseases, respectively.

In 2023, Mediktor added Korean as a new language option for its users. The AI chatbot is now capable of supporting 18 different languages. Our teams worked tirelessly to improve and update every language’s Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities. Another example of these improvements is that our medical team has significantly enhanced our algorithm by introducing 18,000 new connections between questions, diseases, and symptoms. As a result, Mediktor’s AI chatbot provides an even more human-like chatbot experience that meets the needs of millions of individuals worldwide who use our platform to assess their symptoms.

Refinement of our technology

Mediktor has achieved another important milestone this year by introducing a new member to their team, Dr. Oskar. The new animated feature serves as visual support during AI-based consultations. The goal is to remain as close and realistic to our users as possible. Clients can now add Dr. Oskar to their care pathways, allowing their customers to have a more empathetic experience during vulnerable times such as symptom onset.

And if we are talking about refining Mediktor’s technology, we must mention how we enhanced our web architecture by applying a Monorepo strategy. Through this improvement, we can now offer our clients a more seamless integration, while internally, it helps reduce errors and accelerate the development processes.

Because every effort has its compensation, at the beginning of 2023, Mediktor took pride in being selected as a finalist of the TANAMIN Digital Health Challenge Powered by The Mitsubishi Chemical Group.
