Mediktor Collaborates with Hospital Broggi for Enhanced Mental Health Support
November 22, 2023
In recent years, mental health has become a growing concern, particularly with the effects of the pandemic. Despite the rising incidence of these conditions, awareness is often lacking. According to the WHO, approximately 1 in 4 people worldwide will experience mental disorders at some point in their lives. This issue is exacerbated by the absence of trustworthy resources and the various biases that those affected by mental health conditions must confront.

A way to address this problem is through enhanced access to reliable mental health information. Mediktor is a trustworthy AI-based solution to pre-diagnose mental health conditions thanks to its thorough database created by professionals and now reviewed by specialists from Hospital Broggi in Barcelona.
The comprehensive database review was conducted by the Psychiatry Department of the Consorci Sanitari Integral – Sant Joan Despí Moisés Broggi Hospital. The head of the department, Dr. Monica Prat Galbany, has led this study together with Dr. Leire Narvaiza Grau and the team’s psychologists, Ferran Vilalta Abella, Javier Tinoco Closa, and Montserrat Vacas Moreira.
“In recent times, our society has experienced an increase in the prevalence of mental disorders, which is why prevention and an appropriate approach are crucial. There is a growing effort to reduce stigma and increase awareness among professionals and the public. It is key that we work on improving digital solutions to facilitate access to information. The Psychiatry Service of the Moisés Broggi Hospital has collaborated in the revision of contents and the training of artificial intelligence, intending to help the patient access optimal care”, expressed Dr. Monica Prat Galbany, head of the Hospital Broggi Psychiatry Department.
Throughout this review, the renowned specialized department has analyzed and enhanced disease descriptions, enriched the questions asked by Mediktor during the assessment, and suggested new diseases to add to the Mediktor database. The final purpose is to deliver the safest and most reliable AI-based assistance to users when they need it the most.
Disease Descriptions Reviews
Mediktor aims to deploy precise and up-to-date disease descriptions to provide users with helpful information at the onset of symptoms. To achieve this goal, Psychologists and Psychiatrists have meticulously examined each of these definitions and ensure they reflect the latest medical data. The descriptions have been confirmed to be clear, concise, and easily understandable for patients. Furthermore, they have verified that they include key symptoms of each disease and provide relevant information on diagnosis and self-care recommendations.
Improvement of Mediktor’s Assessment Questions
The questions posed by Mediktor during the assessment are crucial in determining an appropriate pre-diagnosis. Mental healthcare professionals have analyzed and incorporated more detailed and specific questions, ensuring they encompass all relevant symptoms for each disease. Now, patients can provide even more precise information about their symptoms during the assessment, closely resembling an interview conducted by a mental health specialist.
New Diseases in Mediktor’s Database
Medical research is constantly advancing, leading to emerging diseases that need to be recognized and understood within the medical community. Mediktor can provide a pre-diagnosis on most mental health conditions often observed in primary care centers and acute hospitals. Nevertheless, after conducting a comprehensive analysis of the scientific literature, the mental health professionals responsible for reviewing Mediktor’s database have proposed the addition of new diseases such as Adaptive Disorder, Rapid Cycling Bipolar Disorder, and Social Communication Disorder.
The Importance of Mental Health for Mediktor
Appropriate resources and attention must be dedicated to assessing and treating mental health. Mediktor, with its updated and enhanced database, can play a vital role in the early detection of mental illnesses and in assisting patients when seeking help. The AI medical chatbot can offer reliable and professional support to those struggling with unknown or misdiagnosed conditions by providing more precise questions and clear descriptions.

This collaboration represents the joint dedication to addressing medical needs holistically and Mediktor’s goal of driving patients to the appropriate level of care. Combating the stigma surrounding mental health is possible by making access to care more accessible and encouraging open conversations about it. By straightening such a relevant database, users can prioritize their mental well-being and seek assistance without hesitation.
