Mediktor Selected as Finalists of TANAMIN Digital Health Challenge Powered by The Mitsubishi Chemical Group

Mediktor, the most accurate AI-based medical assistant for triage and pre-diagnosis, selected as finalists of the TANAMIN Digital Health Challenge to improve the well-being of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patients and their families. The 6-months online program connected startups to the project teams of The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (hereinafter “MCG”) and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation (MTPC), the pharma arm of MCG, in an effort to work toward mutually agreed-upon goals.

One of the projects proposed by MCG for the TANAMIN Digital Health Challenge aimed to raise awareness in the community to reach out to the right doctor at the earliest possible signs of ALS. The goal was to find startups with digital tools that encourage patients to get early diagnostics and drive them to the right level of care.

It takes 1-2 years for ALS patients to get a diagnosis because most patients do not initially reach out to the specialists resulting in a delay in the start of treatment. Mediktor finds undiagnosed ALS patients online and guides them to the proper treatment, triggering early disease detection. The AI-based medical assistant provides patients and professionals with the right health decision support. This allows an early diagnosis and a rapid start of the treatment, delaying ALS symptoms and extending life expectancy. In ALS, this is increasingly relevant, since getting a proper evaluation in a timely way is crucial in disease progression.

Delays may be reduced with improved awareness and clinical education about ALS. Through this project, Mediktor will empower patient awareness, work as a decision supporter for professionals, and motivate the subject to see a specialist. The digital evaluation tool generates a set of recommendations for patients like reaching the correct specialist as soon as possible. Moreover, Mediktor offers the opportunity to extract report analytics and disease information, which can be shared as needed.
