Mediktor and Sanofi launch the first cough analyzer App in Spain

Barcelona – November 30th 2020- In Spain, around 80% of the adult population suffers from a cough, that is, about 27 million people. There are different types of cough, including dry and productive coughs. 6.5 million people have a productive cough often or very often; and each of them requires a different approach. That is why it is important to differentiate them to adopt the correct measure.
Precisely, to help differentiate the different types of cough in a simple and fast way. Mediktor together with Sanofi launch the first Cough Analyzer App through the CuídatePlus portal; It is a digital application that, through a sound analysis service, a cough sound database and artificial intelligence techniques, allows identifying the type of cough that a person has. However, it is important to note that it is not a diagnostic tool for any symptoms related to COVID-19.
How does it work?
To identify the type of cough that the user suffers, She/he only has to send an audio coughing to the electronic device (mobile phone, tablet or computer) and the application will distinguish between the various types of cough that exist. The solution can also guide the patient, if desired, to find a specific solution for the type of cough identified.
Another of the functionalities of this APP consists in asking the user additional control questions in order to provide a more accurate pre-diagnosis.The Cough Analysis is free and available for the web and for the IOS and Android operating systems.
